I have the A03 and am quite happy with it, but I noticed while doing some testing and setup of my DSP that the Bluetooth sound quality was far different from direct line-in. The Bluetooth sounded rather muffled and almost "hollowed".
I thought it might be because I was using different sources, so I connected my laptop to feed both a Bluetooth and a direct line-level feed to the unit. Then I sent a bluetooth to my Echo device with the line-level out to the A03.
This is the resulting graph of the frequency responses from all methods. They are SPL-aligned at 100Hz. The green is Bluetooth. The red is line-level. The blue is the Echo fed by bluetooth, with a line-level connection to the A03.
You'll notice that graphs are quite different, with the high end of the A03 Bluetooth well below that of the others, and a major difference at 200Hz.
I know Bluetooth is lossy, but this is like listening to a CD versus a 96Kbps MP3 file.
The fact that the Bluetooth-fed Echo device and line-level direct from the laptop are almost identical, tells me there is something very wrong with the blurtooth portion of the A03.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? Can it be fixed in any way with a firmware upgrade/update?
