D20 High-Fidelity DAC — AIYIMA 10th Anniversary Series Finale

A nice unit, great interface, clean and easy to read. XLR out so hooking this dac to a power amp is going to be easy. It’s has a universal appearance so matching it with other amplifiers will not be too hard.

Looking forward to seeing and or even hearing if I get the chance, the performance of this unit.

Swappable op amps would be a bonus! I would even go as far to say that if the opa828 could be placed in this dac with good electrical synergy, it may sound excellent!

Definitely on my shortlist!

New to the forum here and been waiting for this release since purchasing the T20 and A20.
I think it’ll be great if there is app interaction to control the UI of the panel straight from my smartphone. Maybe there is one in consideration already? A couple of colored volume knob rings would be really nice for personalization too!

D20 is a pretty good launch and i like that it has upgradable dictate support and balanced is always good only thing i would oove to see is a analog vu meter

Looks really good. I've been waiting to see how it would turn out as I plan to have all 3 (A20, T20 and D20) as my stack for my 2.1 system. VU meters are awesome, will there be different styles and colour choices for the VU meters? Congrats to the Aiyima team! 👏👏

I prefer the New D20 should give Clean vocals: No sibilance ("s" sounds harsh), Smooth cymbals ( No metallic ringing), Deep bass- Tight, controlled (no muddiness) and transparent, fatigue-free listening for hours.
Secondly, it should give Smooth, consistent highs (unlike Harsh treble with some speakers), Tight, controlled bass (unlike Bass varies by speaker) and More analog-like (Big NO to 'digital' sound).
Third point is it should give Constant visual satisfaction + precise level monitoring across any music Volume.
Fourth: it should Match room lighting/ambiance, Make- audio equipment more "alive", personalized visual art that reacts to My music while showing accurate levels.
Fifth: making it perfectly tuned to MY audio world instead of generic factory defaults.

Counting down the days until the launch! Though it’s a bummer that I’ll have to wait at least a month for it to ship to my place 🫣

Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary! The D20 looks like a phenomenal addition to the lineup. I spend a lot of time listening to complex, high-res instrumental tracks where precise imaging, instrument separation, and a wide soundstage are absolutely crucial to the experience.
I'd love to know more about the D20's overall sound signature. Does it lean more toward an analytical, reference-grade presentation, or does it have a slightly warmer, musical touch? I'd love to test its synergy with my headphones and speakers . Fingers crossed to be one of the first to try it out! @AIYIMA Official

Lots of great suggestions here, I might suggest two things, selling a connection kit that includes right size fit cables that interconnect the whole stack. And, thinking ahead, now that you all build streamers, build the next streamer to complement the stack.

This is exciting - particularly the firmware updates. Maybe there's more features to come in the roadmap. As always, thank you for continuing to innovate audio gear for everyone!

Glad to have a wide variety of inputs and outputs. Looking forward to seeing customization in the user interface, allowing for both ultra minimal as well as super gadgety.

I am very impressed with the design of D series. I am currently running A07 max mono. The consistent size and color and minimal design make the D20 series very attractive. I wish the DAC has dual AKM DAC or feature even more higher end AKM DAC 4499. It could be a future project.

The new Aiyima D20 has a pretty fun concept of different DAC chip in the same package, kind of wish we can somehow use both at the same time, or even alternating between two chips during playback for funsies !
As for the themes, maybe we can get one that pulsates accordingly to the audio being played ? It'd look more livelier than a static screen.

Dear Customers and Partners,

We are pleased to announce that the AIYIMA D20 has completed all tuning and testing, and is about to enter mass production.
Due to production and launch arrangements, the release date will be slightly delayed. Please stay tuned for official announcements regarding the exact launch schedule.

Thank you for your patience and support. We look forward to bringing you the outstanding audio experience of the D20!

It looks promising, especially with the DAC chipsets. My only question is why no sub out connection?

Happy 10th Anniversary to AIYIMA! The D20 looks like a serious contender for a high-fidelity 'endgame' DAC. I’m particularly interested in its performance with high-resolution instrumental music think Akira Ito’s Marine Flowers or Roger Waters. For me, it’s all about the soundstage and that needle-sharp imaging to really feel the space in the recording. I'm curious if the D20's tuning leans more toward a neutral, transparent profile to let the my gear character shine, or if it adds a touch of musical warmth?

At first look, I love the styling and look of the D20. It would look great with my A20 and T20! Love the idea of firmware update ability. I recently installed the upgrade board for my A80 and the idea of new looks and functionality updates without having to install new hardware is awesome!

To suggest something, I am of the generation that loves old VU meters and old-school graphic equalizers…would it be possible to incorporate a digital equalizer control capability to the current D20? If not, perhaps a matching dedicated equalizer that matches the system.

I am confident the engineers have created a strong device…I hope to hear it one day!

I am a long time user of Aiyima products and am very excited for the D20. I have always wanted an active adjustable EQ along with the spectrum display. The D20 looks to have a EQ spectrum display but not individual spectrums that are adjustable. I do believe that there are many people who would be excited to use an active adjustable EQ and not just bass and treble controls. I believe that any audiophile would love to be able to fine tune their music to such a degree and be able to totally enjoy their musical experience and be totally emerged in it to their liking

Hello, I hope you are very well. I think the design of this DAC is great, as well as having all those functions. I would like it to have several images of numbers with different shades of color. It could also display what is currently playing, and underneath, some colors that go with the rhythm of the music, changing smoothly and fluidly. Otherwise, I think it's a spectacular product, and I hope I can have one.

So what you are asking for is an active adjustable spectrum equalizer that you can adjust each individual frequency correct ? I know the D20 doesn’t have that but hoping that a future model would

I as well hoped it would have a functioning active and controllable spectrum analyzer EQ !!! I see where a couple other people have mentioned this but not know what to call it but explaining the functionality 😅
