That would be nice for many users to fine tune the sound. In my case I'm using open-back headphones, which naturally has less bass. So adjusting frequency would be nice, but it has to be engineered right to not alter the rest of the frequency range...

Yeah but the D20 is just a DAC at it's best with hdmi arc. Most likely the D20 would be in a speaker setup so the headphone jack will just add more complexity and higher price tag...
